Rodeo Bull Riding Collection

Scoring points is easy to understand: two judges give 1 to 25 points for a cowboy's performance and 1 to 25 points for the bull's performance; thus, 100 points would be the perfect ride; however, getting a high score is extremely difficult. The Ski Jumping Collection
This program introducers viewers to the one of the most thrilling of outdoor sporting events, Gelandesprung, also known as "Gelande" (ga-lun-day), which literally means terrain jump. Ski jumper, Alf Engen, started the first Gelandesprung contest in 1964 at Alta, Utah. Here we view the Gelandesprung event, which is part of Steamboat Springs' annual Winter Carnival. Gelande jumpers use the standard Alpine gear with a fixed heel, rather than using Nordic skis, which allow a free heel. The skis are extremely long and jumpers use the "V" style of Olympic jumping for flight position. In competition, points are based on the length of a jump and style points combined.
